E/R-SUHUM: USE EVANGELISM TO PREACH AGAINST YOUTH INTO DRUG ABUSE - SUHUM MCE

The Suhum Municipal Chief Executive Hon Margaret Darko Darkwah has urged Christians to be much concerned about our youth of today who engage in the abusive use of tramadol and it's related drugs.

According to her the development of a nation largely depends on the youth who eventually grow to become the wheel directors of the nation.

The Hon MCE made this call during Suhum zonal Presbyterian church convention at Omenako park. This call to Christians according to the Hon MCE is necessitated by the alarming rate of our youth deterioration due to the abusive use of tramadol and other related drugs. She said Christians have a responsibility in our nation building by using their platforms to educate and train the young ones the way they should go and when they grow up they would not depart from it.

I feel sad when I see our youth wasting their lives on the streets", the Hon MCE lamented. In as much as Government is doing it's possible best to reduce unemployment rate especially among the youth, as a church and Christians we need to pray with a kind heart for the leadership of the nation.

The Hon MCE also used advantage of the platform given to congratulate all farmers who the nation celebrated not long ago. She reiterated on the theme "Agriculture moving Ghana beyond Aid" as feasible if our youths are encouraged to venture into agriculture. Farming according to her has become a lucrative business these days that our youth can make better living out of it instead of wasting their lives on the abuse of drugs.

Hon Mrs Margaret darko Darkwah thanked the Presbyterian church and all Christians for their timely intervention through fervent prayers for the leadership of the country especially the President His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo and his Appointees. "I'm aware it's due to your prayers that Ghana is enjoying uninterrupted peace for some time now", she appreciated.
