GNFS SAVES LIFES, SAKUMONO FIRE OUTBREAK:- NO INJURIES RECORDED, SEVERAL STRUCTURES SAVED

FIRE SCENE AT SAKUMONO


The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) swiftly responded to a domestic fire at Sakumono Railway Station also known as Asoprochona, at 1920 pm on Monday, May 5, 2025, saving multiple wooden structures and recording no injuries or fatalities.


The first fire appliance from Tema Regional Headquarters arrived at 1932 hours, followed by reinforcements from Kasapreko, Nungua, and Tema Industrial Area due to the fire’s rapid spread. The blaze was brought under control at 2021 hours.


Though 15 wooden structures were destroyed, several others and their contents were salvaged through the swift and tactical efforts of the adept firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.


Hon. James Enu, MP for Tema West, joined GNFS officers led by DO II Samuel Fiifi Oppong on site to commend their bravery and professionalism.
