The Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Samuel Nuertey Ayertey has charged the Municipal and District Chief Executives in the region to be part of that school of thought who always want to make things happen.

He encouraged them to be innovative and always try to think outside the box to bring the needed development to their people and communities.

Hon. Nuertey Ayertey made this call when he visited some of the Municipal and District Assemblies in the region.

The Deputy Minister who commenced his tour of the Municipal and District Assemblies in the region about a week ago has so far visited about fifteen (15) Assemblies out of a total of thirty-two (32).

We want to make sure the vision of the President, His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is actualised and it is therefore incumbent on us to do things differently in order to achieve better results" he said.

The President's vision is to make sure everyone, no matter the class, affiliation or gender has his or her part of the national cake and also have a feel of the development in the country.

Don't sit and watch things happen and at the end question what has happened, try and make things happen yourself" Hon. Ayertey charged the MMDCEs.

He said, “in the quest of making things happen in our workplaces or wherever we find ourselves, one has to employ the Total Quality Management (TQM) concept where everybody feels he or she is part of the process and there must be a continuous improvement in whatever we do.

The Deputy Regional Minister underscored the need for the Management and staff of the various Municipal and District Assemblies in the region to bring more innovations into the work they do especially in their quest to bring development to the Assemblies where they work so that Eastern Region will be pacesetters in innovations.

There is the need for us to bring more innovations into the work we do to be able to bring more development to the Assemblies and the Country as a whole" he stated.

In his interactions with Management and staff of the various Assemblies, most of the Assemblies tabled the challenges facing them, some which have to do with staff strength, roads, infrastructure deficit in the schools amongst others but the deputy Minister assured them of government commitment and support to address some of the challenges.
He inspected various projects(both ongoing and completed) across the Assemblies he visited.
