ER-SUHUM: MCE REITERATE, PEACEFUL ATMOSPHERE AS THE PANACEA FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Suhum Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Margaret Darko Darkwah in her speech delivered on behalf of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo during the Ghana's 62nd Independence anniversary celebration reiterated her stance on the need for the youth of Suhum and it's environs to embrace the call for peace by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, as peaceful environment is a panacea to national development.
This year's independence anniversary which is celebrated to consolidate the peace enjoyed so far as a people in the forth republic has much to do with the people of Dagbon and it's environs, hence the national durbar grounds in Tamale the regional capital.
The Suhum Municipal Chief Executive, after congratulating Ghanaians especially the people of Dagbon for adhering to the call for peace by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, took the opportunity to congratulate the people of Suhum for their responsible attitude in chalking a peaceful atmosphere in the Municipality over the years. Admitting the fact that there are pockets of activities by some black sheep among us who obstruct this peace enjoyed by all, she assured all present that her outfit as the Chairperson of the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) shall ensure that the police and other security agencies available are well equipped to ensure the sustainability of a peaceful atmosphere in the Municipality.
According to Hon Margaret Darko Darkwah, the peaceful coexistence among religious, tribal and political differences in the Municipality is encouraging enough to attract investors and development into the Municipality. This she said is gradually yielding fruit as developmental projects completed and ongoing including educational infrastructures, health, sanitation among others are rare to testify.
She admonished that all hands must be put on deck to restrain any individual or group of persons whatsoever whose actions and inactions intend to obstruct the peace which has been hard earned over the years. She commended the Suhum police command for their efforts to make peace reign in the Municipality.
Presentation of awards
The Hon mce presented on behalf of the Assembly a hand washing container to all participating schools. She also presented a wall clock and certificates to first three performed schools. A trophy donated by the member of parliament, Hon Frederick Opare Ansah was presented to winner schools in all categories.
Ambassadors of free shs also presented a magnificent branded trophy to the overall best second cycle school in the municipality. Ambassadors of free shs also presented certificates to all second cycle school who participated in the independence anniversary celebration.
