AMBASSADORS OF FREE SHS ORGANIZE INTER SHS SOCCER COMPETITION ON MAY DAY

The Ambassadors of Free SHS* on May Day gathered all the Senior High Schools students in the Suhum Municipality and Ayensuano District at the Islamic High Girls Senior High School to have a healthy competition in soccer, the king of sports.
The four Senior High Schools: Suhum Presec, Sutesco, Islamic High Girls and Coaltar Presbyterian Senior High Technical School came out of their various schools in their numbers to cheer up their respective school teams.
The Suhum Municipal Director of Education, Mrs Quaye Sowah addressing the students during the opening ceremony of the charged but enthusiastic atmosphere, congratulated the organizers *(Ambassadors of Free SHS*) for the fantastic initiative which has brought all four schools onto one platform. According to the Education Director, apart from the socialisation beauty the program will showcase, unity among the sister schools is assured. She used the opportunity meeting the beneficiaries of Free SHS to educate them the need to take advantage of the president's implementation of the Free SHS. According to her, the Free SHS has come to curb the illiteracy growth in Ghana. "Parents now don't have any excuse sending their children to the senior High School because Government has already paid for. "She stressed.
Mrs Quaye Sowah commended the Ambassadors of Free SHS and the sponsors of the program and pleaded that such programs should be frequent in her Municipality.
The proud sponsor of the program, Oboafo Kwadwo Asante who couldn't attend the program due to circumstances beyond his control, in a telephone conversation expressed his strong attachment to education and that he is in full support of the President's vision to provide Senior High Education for free. According to Oboafo Kwadwo Asante, sponsoring of the Ambassadors of Free SHS project is his own small way of motivating the beneficiaries of the Free SHS. He assured to support the Ambassadors of Free SHS project to the later.
At the end of the competition, each school was presented a set of jersey and a football. The winning girls team was presented a magnificent branded trophy for keep. The winning boys team also took to their school a magnificent branded trophy for keep.
Coaltar Presbyterian Senior High Technical School won the Girls side while Suhum Presbyterian Senior High School won the boys side.
The occasion received the attention of the Constituency NPP Chairman Mr Frederick Ofosu, the First Vice Chairman Mr Kwame addo and lots of the Constituency NPP Executives. A representative from Ayensuano District came to support the only school from his District, Coaltar Presbyterian Senior High Technical School from Ayensuano District.
