As part of the President intervention to support the needy in this Covid 19 Pandemic, Red cross society branch in Ablekumah district has assist the people living in Dansoman area. Some items given to them are Milo, Milk, cooking ingredients, Lipton , cerelac and others
Ignatius Nana Odoom, the district manager for Red cross society in Ablekumah district also shared why they are doing these offer to the people in Dansoman area.Incollaboration Nestle Ghana, some of these areas they are doing distributing to are Ashiaman/Kpone, Ashieduketeke, Ayawaso, Ga Central, Okaikoi, Ga South/ Gbawe, Ga West, Adentan, Ablekuman, Ladma, Lekma, Ningo and Pantang and lepros.
In all, over 24,600 beneficiaries are suspected to be served across these areas.
According to the district director Mr Odoom said, even though they started this exercise,they were educating the public in how to wash their hands under running water, using alcohol base sanitizer, using face masks in public and observing social distance to prevent the virus from spreading.
Meanwhile, chapter chairman for Ablekumah red Cross Mr Jesse Awittor also add up that community outreach was mounted in various like mamprobi and chokor and some part of banana inn, even those red Cross has been educating the public into first aid measures and what to do if someone falls into dangers and how to prevent it.
Dr Princess Lizzy who is the Greater Accra Regional PRO added that the total cost involved cannot be mentioned but as part of their social responsibility they adhere to the government request in supporting the needy she added.
