The Suhum loyal ladies On Wednesday, 13th October, 2020, commemorated their 4th anniversary of NDC brutality on some members of their group who were on a door to door campaign.
The event which saw members of the loyal ladies across the Eastern region trooping into Suhum in support of their fellows who were brutalised four years ago by the NDC thugs.
Some women activists of the ruling new patriotic party joined in to commemorate the Suhum NDC brutality on the ladies and charged all responsible organisations and cooperate bodies to condemn such acts of barbarism. Among these women activists were the Minister of gender and social protection Hon Morrison, Minister of foriegn affairs Hon Naa Ashorkor and the MCE for Suhum Constituency, Hon Mrs Margaret Darko Darkwa.
The host MCE for the occasion, Hon Mrs Margaret Darko Darkwa assured everyone to go about his or her campaign without fear or intimidation whatsoever. He dared the NDC to try any violent act this time around and the law will descend on them heavily. "The era of indiscipline is over and I dare the NDC to try anything violence and the law will deal with them heavily". The hon MCE stressed.
According to the MCE Suhum constituency has enjoyed peace under the NPP and wouldn't tolerate any kind of misbehavior that will undermine the peaceful atmosphere the Constituency is currently enjoying. She appreciated the effort by the loyal ladies for exhibiting the girl power in them within the political climate of our time. She encouraged them to strengthen their door to door campaign for their safety is assured.
It could be recalled some four years ago under the leadership of the NDC, some members of the loyal ladies, a volunteer group of the New patriotic party (NPP) were physically assaulted and brutalised for embarking on a door to door campaign selling the message of change in the Suhum Constituency. It is for this that the group has organized an event to draw the attention of the public of political violence as Ghanaians prepare to go to the polls to exercise their democratic rights.
