Eastern Regional Capital, koforidua on the 13th September 2018 got flooded after hours of heavy rains storm. Some of these flooded areas are Nsukwao,Zongo,Old Estate and some part of the municipality.
The municipal Chief executive of new juaben south-Hon Ike Gyasi, the municipal Nadmo Coordinator- Isaac Adjabeng, the Municipal Finance Officer Mr Frimpong Manson,municipal Urban Roads Mr Francis Tosu and some of the staffs of the Assembly instantly tour some of these areas
Some of the households who fall into victims call for aid from the government to assist them and to expand
their gutters.
One school called Ghateco Primary School when the incident happens, because their school is closer to one big stream called Nsukwao,the school flooded, some people living around the school and some drivers came to rescue this school children.
In an interview with the New Juaben South Municipal Chief executive Hon Ike Apaw Gyasi who was recently appointed by the President said that instantly it is better to relocate those staying at flooded areas and if better demolish those areas because their lives are in danger. Alot of iteams got flooded and has spoil just aday, an hour, meanwhile it took soo many years for some of them got what they have perish Hon MCE added.
Coffin shops, market stores, Sewing shops, butiks,houses where all flooded and some may not take a pinny from it.
