Ghana Health Service(GHS) in Ashanti region together with National Malaria Control Program(NMCP) has registered the people of Ashanti Region to be distributed 3,276,000 insecticides mosquito nets to them.
The objective of the campaign, Long Lasting Insecticides Treated Net(LLIN),Point Mass Distribution (PMD) is to register ninety percent of the population and distribute mosquito nets to the ninety percent of the population who has been registered.
Dr Keziah Malm who is the programme Manager for National Malaria Control Program(NMCP) explain further to the media that, sleeping in a Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Net protects you from the bite of mosquitoes that gives malaria, it saves the family money in hospital bills, transportation and even time spent for caring when sick
Meanwhile, these campaign has already taken places in the seven regions in Ghana namely Volta, Eastern, Central, Western, Brong Ahafo,Northern and Upper East. Now Ashanti Region is the eighth region. However,Ghana Health Service with National Malaria Control Program estimated to distribute 3,276,000 nets to the people of Ashanti Region.

Dr Kaziah, finally told the media that, their next region to benefit from the Long Lasting Insecticide Net (LLIN-PMD) campaign is the Greater Accra Region,2,773,696 nets is to be distributed that registration will takes place from 6th-12th November 2018
Some of the family who registered to receive some of these nets acknowledge the Ghana Health Service and National Malaria Control Programme for the exercise. They said even though they have been fighting against mosquitoes to prevent them from getting malaria, they believe these nets will help them prevent the mosquitoes more by biting them and get malaria.
