The attention of the Municipal Chief Executive Hon Margaret Darko Darkwah has been drawn to a reportage seeking to dent the image of her outfit and her hard earned reputation. The reportage which suggests that the Suhum Municipal Assembly headed by Mrs Margaret Darko Darkwah has awarded a contract worth one hundred and sixty thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢160000) for a three unit classroom block at Adarkwa Methodist and that the Hon MCE has over priced the contract for a kick back purpose.
This reportage lacks credibility looking at who engineered it and as such must be treated with the utmost contempt for it's purpose is malicious, barbaric, whimsical, capricious and above all has the hands of the devil in it.
The fact:
The project in question which is a three unit classroom block cited at Adarkwa in the Suhum Municipality is funded with District Development Fund (DDF). The project was initially a two unit classroom block but the community requested it to be three unit classroom block which the assembly considered. The contract was awarded to Kakem Construction Limited with a contract sum of one hundred thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢100000). The project will be roofed with a long span roofing. A glass louvers and fully electrical works.
Same project in 2016 according to records went for one hundred and eighty five thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢185000).
The reportage by the media aide to the MP if not meant for the usual ill reasons, he Ayensu Stephen must bow his head in shame.
The Hon MCE ever since he assumed office has been met with similar cooked stories from this same media aide to the MP with names like Akua Aboagyewaa. All those stories turned out to be fake and that was just intended to divert attention from the good works by the Government and the Hon MCE in the Municipality.
Such reportages has really succeeded in drawing the attention of the media and investigators into the Municipality, the Assembly and the President's Representative are proud to be leading the chart on performance as far as transparency, accountability and hard work are concerned. The incorruptible nature of the Hon MCE seems to block loopholes which otherwise people who were milking the assembly with dubious means are finding it difficult to cooperate. No wonder all these cooked stories are coming from the media aide to the MP.
The Hon MCE's doors are opened to the public for any document on the contract of the project. Meanwhile a request has been made for the National Security, EOCO and the BNI to further investigate the matter to prove the innocence of the Assembly and the Hon MCE from any wrong doings.
