One would not have wished to dream of citizens intention to draw the nation back into power load shedding popularly known as "Dumso". But I tell you it happened in the glare view of the VIGILANTE.
In a meeting with the hawks numbering about hundred and chaired by the Party Chairman, Hon Ofosu Ampofo. I remember seeing personalities like Sammy Gyamfi, Asiedu Nketia, Kwaku Boahen, Hon Sam George, Joshua Akamba, and Dr Hannah Bisiw. Former President John Dramani Mahama was sitting right next to Elder Ofosu Ampofo on his right while Johnson Asiedu Nketia aka general mosquito was sitting on the left of Elder Ofosu.
Before the commencement of the meeting, all mobile phones were asked to be switched off and submitted to be kept for reason the Chairman said, no one is to be trusted "Analepsing" resent leaked tape from similar meeting with party members.
All obliged including the VIGILANTE. No one was searched though probably having a change of mind for an iota of trust this time around. At this juncture, the VIGILANTE still couldn't believe reasons for being part of the meeting. Probably was invincible.
The Chairman welcomed all for coming. A brief introduction was made by the leadership of the hawks Elder Ofosu Ampofo declined to mention their names as a way of introducing themselves but all that he said was you all know us already and started his address. In his address, Ofosu Ampofo reiterated the party's stance to empower the hawks to make the country ungovernable to the President and his Appointees. He again admonished them not to lose hope for 2020 is going to be a do and die affair and that they have put measures in place to arm them (the hawks) very soon to start attacking the various Government's security agencies especially the national security operatives.
According to Elder Ofosu Ampofo, "we are politicians just as members of the npp Government. "No one can arrest us and even if they do is only a temporary measure to calm Ghanaians down and in less than forty eight hours we will be walking around freely". He cited an example of his invitation to the CID Headquarters which he said was only a formality of power show down which is of course one of the tactics of all politicians in Africa. He admitted that, should it have been any serious country, his statement heard on the tape must have ended his political career and even jailed for not less than ten years. "But Ghana is not such a serious country", he added.
Elder Ofosu Ampofo did not consider his Pentecostal training for all these years, he told the hawks that, they as the party leadership "we have come here to outline a new plan to create the impression that the country is not safe and it's the cause of Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo". This the chairman said will be the tag mark on Nana Addo come 2020 campaign. Outlining the new strategy to be adopted by the NDC party, elder Ofosu Ampofo said that, serial killings must be on the increase and that the target group must be the ordinary Ghanaian whose death would not be investigated. He also said that the party leadership is not comfortable with the drastic reduced rate of armed robbery situation heard these days and entreated the hawks to engage their men in that field to back up. He assured that they were going to call their members they employed and others they promoted in the police service to provide assistance to protect them.
According to elder Ofosu Ampofo, all plans to make sure that "Dumso" is reimplemented in the country is underway and that before 2020 Ghanaians will experience "Dumso". "Apart from sending our boys to temper with the high tension poles, we are devising possible means of draining the water that supplies the Akosombo dam in the turning of the turbines. "If it would be for us as the leadership of the NDC to purchase buckets for you to fetch all the water from the lake, we will ensure that", elder Ofosu Ampofo humouring.
When it got to the turn of the former President, John Dramani Mahama to address the hawks, he first of all commended the hawks for their loyalty to the NDC party and assured them of better days ahead. He promised them that should they win power, they will serve as the Government Special Guards (GSG) at the office of the Presidency. This assurance from the flag bearer of the NDC rejuvenated the spirit of hooliganism in the hawks making them tap their heavily built shoulders to show their eagerness to fight for power.
The former President promised to finance all their activities including their monthly payment of two thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢2000.00) each for the start. He told the hawks that his brother Ibrahim Mahama has imported some cars for their personal use. All he expects from them is to cause mayhem to create a state of insecurity in the country. Mr Mahama also tasked the leadership of the hawks to prepare their boys adequately for election 2020. According to him, his brother Ibrahim Mahama is negotiating with a colleague business man to procure ammunitions for the use by the hawks to cause mayhem during election 2020.
The VIGILANTE therefore advises the Government not to consider this information as a mere dream but as a wake up call to strengthen Security especially to the ordinary Ghanaian.
To the various religious leaders, let's engage our GODS in the protection of our dear nation Ghana. We have no other country than Ghana.
