The Executive Director of ASEPA Mr Thompson Mensah has said that the CID has invited Mugaabe Maase of RadioXYZ to assist them in investigating threats of death that Joynews Journalist Manasseh Azure over has reportedly received after the airing of his documentary Millitia in the heart of the City. I have just finished listening to the tape of Mugaabe's comments and i must say today is the saddest day in the history of Journalism in this Country.
What i am expecting is that the Ghana Journalists Association and it's members move in their numbers tomorrow to solidarize with their colleague Journalist whether they like what he does or Not!
I am sad, i have stopped eating my dinner, my soul is weeping for the level of anarchy and tyrannism brewing in this Country. Speak up my People, Speak up and never be cowed into opression.When Kennedy Agyapong sat on radio and put a booty on the head of a Jounalist Ahmed Suale, the CID never heard of it even after the Journalist was brutally assassinated.
Just a few days ago i listened to a tape where this "stomach" pastor Owusu Bempah accused Former President Mahama of plotting to assisinate he Owusu Bempah, President Akufo Addo and Dr.Bawumiah.
The CID hasn't intercepted this tape yet!!
What is going on this Country that the laws of this Country has now become only a vehicle for Political Victimisations and Opressions. The spirit of our laws is being tormented and its about time we speak up against such impunity and Power drunkness.
If Manasseh Azure has recieved death threats for showing a documentary exposing government's hypocrisy in the fight against vigilantism how does Mugaabe Maase helps you the CID with your investigations???
Such silly excuse to victimise a Journalist perfoming his duties.
Is Mugaabe Maase a forensic expert or is he computer programmer to assist you in decoding the texts threats???
All journalists in this Country must rise against this undue opression now otherwise they would have no cause to complain when another regime tries to victimise them.
The Christian Council and the Peace Council too should continue zipping their lips and live their tacit oblivion!!
When this Country goes up in flames they would be nothing but accomplices and the blood of every soul that would be shed would ne on their "bloody" hands.
