Media General Hold ‘Fake News’ Forum To Mark World Press Freedom Day MAY








 






Leading media conglomerate, Media General, operators of TV3, 3FM, Onua FM, Connect FM, Akoma FM and MG Digital (www.3news.com) are holding a public forum as part of activities marking this year’s World Press Freedom Day.
The forum, which is centered around ‘Fake News’ in journalism, comes off Wednesday, May 2 at the International Press Center in Accra at 3:00 pm.
The forum will feature renowned international journalists from across the globe who will discuss the growing phenomena of fake news and how that hinders efforts at upholding press freedom, rule of law, and ethical journalism.
Some of the speakers expected to grace the event are Liesbeth Tjonameeuw (Radio Netherlands Worldwide), Joseph Warungu (Kenyan international journalist, former Senior Editor at BBC), and Khuloud Hadaq (Syrian journalist with Al Jazeera).
Others include Francis Sowa (Senegal, Journalism Lecturer and member of the Senegal Media Regulatory Body), Samuel Darko (BBC, Lawyer and Lecturer), Dr. Alhaji Sidick Abubabkar (Senior Journalist and Media Manager), among many others.
Student journalists, professional journalists and stakeholders in the Ghanaian media landscape will also be present at the forum.
