KOTOKA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS NOT FOR SALE - AVIATION MINISTER









The minister of Aviation Hon Kofi Adda speaking to a press briefing today stated that There is no planned sale of the kotoka international airport or any airport asset in Ghana

There is no privatization of the Ghana Airports company limited in any way

There is no management take- over of the GACL

And there is no planned lay offs or retrenchment or redundancies of any sort in respect of the GACL personnel


Hon minister stated that, even before the Covid 19, there would have been more recruitments needed as the expansion works at Kumasi, Tamale and Sunyani are ongoing and possible new airports in the Western and Upper East Regions are also coming up.




He explains the rationale for the Executive Approval Granted to facilitate the engagement of TAV - SUMMA consortium as strategic partners to GACL for improvement of service delivery and expansion of the infrastructure at the Kotoka international airport.



He finally assured the management and staffs of the GACL as well as the general public that the KIA and GACL is not for sale and will never be offered for sale by this Government.


He noted that the GACL is currently distressed due to heavy debts and Government is committed to engaging all stakeholders and a partners to come up with ideas for improvement of the situation while ensuring good service delivery and expansion of infrastructure that will be added value to the company for the benefit of it's employees and the country as a whole .
