EDUCATION : NGO EDUCATE STUDENTS ON SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH RIGHTS.
As parts of efforts rendered by various institutions to end teenage pregnancies in various basic schools in the country, Primad organization, a Non- Governmental Organization has paid courtesy visit to Manso Abodom L\A Junior High School at Abodom in Amansie West District to educate the students about the need to abstain from premarital sex as a teen and concentrate on their studies while in school.
The exercise which took off , provided the opportunity for the students to interact with the keen and most influential delegations from Primad organization and free Sanitary pad were presented to the students for menstrual hygiene.
Speaking to the media after the presentation, the President of Primad Organisation Ms Priscilla Asamoah Baffour opined that the motive behind this exercise is to eradicate teenage pregnancy and also promote menstrual health and personal hygiene in rural Communities.
She indicated that the provision of menstrual pad is to ensure healthy menstruation and the fight against the use of rags by girls in rural area.
She stated that Primad Organisation aims to achieve healthy living in rural communities; young girls been educated on their menstruation and providing proper hygienic measures, to educate them on premarital sex so that the knowledge acquired can help eradicate teenage pregnancy and the free supply of sanitary pads to help prevent the use of rags and ensuring safe and comfortable menstruation.
